Our Partners

The organisations that support, fund and collaborate with Smart Women CIC to deliver lasting change in Birmingham.

Strategic Partners

Working Together for Birmingham Women

Smart Women CIC and Smart Citizens Charitable Foundation work with a wide range of statutory, voluntary and private sector partners to maximise our community impact.

Birmingham City Council
Local Government · Statutory Partner
Our primary statutory partner providing funding, referrals and strategic support. The council works with us to deliver community services in Sparkbrook and Sparkhill — two of Birmingham's most deprived wards. Joint working on Household Support Funds, Warm Welcome Spaces and community events.
West Midlands Police
Law Enforcement · Community Safety Partner
We work closely with West Midlands Police on community safety, domestic abuse support and safeguarding. Police officers regularly attend our community events and sessions, helping to build trust and improve relationships between the BAME community and law enforcement in Sparkbrook.
NHS England
Health Authority · Health Partner
NHS support enables our health awareness programmes including the breast cancer awareness sessions, mental health workshops and healthy lifestyle sessions. NHS medical professionals deliver awareness sessions at our centre and provide referral pathways for women needing specialist health support.
National Lottery Community Fund
Grant Funder · Major Funder
The National Lottery Community Fund has provided crucial grant funding enabling us to run community activities, skill development programmes and wellbeing initiatives across Sparkbrook and Sparkhill. Their investment directly supports the women and families we serve.
Vodafone — Everyone Connected
Corporate Partner · Digital Inclusion
Through the Vodafone Everyone Connected Programme, we distributed SIM cards and mobile connectivity to isolated and disadvantaged community members. This digital inclusion initiative ensures women in our community can access online services, stay connected and access employment opportunities.
Pink Ribbon Foundation
Charity Partner · Health Awareness
In partnership with the Pink Ribbon Foundation, we delivered our Breast Cancer Awareness Programme reaching 86 women. Medical expert sessions, self-examination guidance and survivor-led counselling helped women in our community understand early detection and prevention.
StreetGames
Sport & Youth Partner
StreetGames is our partner for youth and children's sports initiatives. Through the Street Games Initiative, we deliver Easter, Summer and Winter sports clubs for children and young people in Sparkbrook — addressing the significant lack of structured youth activity in the area.
Tudor Trust
Grant Funder · Long-term Partner
The Tudor Trust has provided sustained funding support, enabling us to maintain and develop our community programmes over multiple years. Our 2nd successful year of Tudor Trust support (2021) enabled expansion of our wellbeing project for under-24 young women.
VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme
Government Programme · Sustainability
Through the VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme, we have made improvements to our centre's energy efficiency — reducing operating costs and our environmental footprint, freeing up more resources for community services.
Local Community

Local Organisations & Community Partners

We work with a wide network of local organisations, community groups and grassroots partners across Birmingham to ensure no woman falls through the cracks.

Referral & Support Network

We maintain active referral relationships with local housing associations, Citizens Advice Bureau, Sparkbrook Community Centre, Birmingham women's refuge networks, food banks, and local GP surgeries — ensuring women can access the right support quickly.

Volunteer Organisations

We engage 10+ active volunteers from local faith organisations, schools, colleges and volunteer networks across Birmingham. Volunteers support our events, food bank, office administration and community outreach activities.

Faith & Cultural Organisations

We work closely with local mosques, cultural associations and faith communities in Sparkbrook and Sparkhill to ensure our services are trusted, accessible and culturally appropriate for women from all backgrounds.

Employment & Training Partners

We partner with local colleges, employers and training providers to create pathways to employment for women in our programmes. Our career workshops and employability support connect women with real job opportunities in Birmingham.
